Ashburton Netball Club is a sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. The club is a part of the Waverley District Netball Association (WDNA) Competition, which runs two seasons per year, winter and spring. The coach is responsible for training and guiding the team during game day matches. Netball Victoria offers various coaching courses that coaches can participate in.
Coaches are also required to have current registration with Netball Victoria. The club covers the registration fees for coaches. Additionally, coaches and team managers must have a valid Working With Children Check, which helps protect children from harm. The application process for the check is quick and easy, and can be completed online.
It is important for coaches to follow the rotation policy for year 3, 4, and 5 teams, ensuring that all players have the opportunity to play in different positions. On game day, coaches are expected to stay in one position on the edge of the court throughout the game. Only the designated captain is allowed to approach the umpires during the game. If any issues arise, such as problems with officiating, player or parent behaviour, or other inappropriate situations, the coach can request the Umpire Supervisor to intervene by sending the Team Manager to the control box.
The Ashburton Netball Club provides each team with a Coaches Bag for use during training sessions. This bag contains essential coaching equipment and materials.
