Asahi Judo Club

Asahi Judo Club, located in Kitchener, was established in 1967 and is the only city-affiliated Judo club in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. The club offers a range of classes, including recreational Judo and AsahiFit classes, as well as a successful competitive program. Athletes from Asahi Judo Club regularly win medals at national championships and compete for Canada as members of the National Team.

The philosophy of Asahi Judo Club is based on developing not only physical skills such as balance, coordination, agility, strength, endurance, and flexibility, but also mental attributes such as self-confidence, respect for self and others, self-discipline, humility, perseverance, determination, self-control, and cooperation. Classes include Kinder Judo for ages 5-7, Junior Judo for ages 8-14, Adult Beginner Judo, and Teen/Adult classes. The Winter 2024 session at Asahi Judo Club runs from January 8th to March 30th, with registration through Judo Ontario necessary for all members.
