The main shooting venue for Epping Archers is the North Weald airfield, where the club holds outdoor competitions during the summer months. The club has a long-standing agreement with the local council, which allows them to use the range throughout the year, except on certain event days. In addition to the outdoor range, the Seniors also meet for indoor shooting at the Great Parndon Community Association's Abercrombie Centre in Harlow. The seniors shoot on Monday evenings from 8:15 pm to 10:15 pm, while the juniors shoot from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm on the same days.
The Epping Archers club, established in 1973, has been active in the Epping/Harlow area of Essex for over 40 years. The club prides itself on its dedication to the development of junior archers and had achieved Archery GB's archery specific Club Mark status in October 2007. Although the club is no longer able to hold Club Mark status, it continues to adhere to the principles set forth by Sport England. These principles include complying with minimum operating standards in areas such as the participation programme, duty of care and child protection, sports equity and ethics, and club management.
Epping Archers is affiliated with Archery GB, the National Governing Body for archery in the UK. The club complies with Archery GBs policies on safeguarding, health and safety, equality, disciplinary action, and volunteers, along with codes of conduct, ethics, and duty of care. The club also has its own policies in place, such as a privacy policy and a data protection policy.
At Epping Archers, they run regular beginner courses for both seniors and juniors who are interested in joining the club. The courses cover all the basics of archery and are supervised by qualified club coaches. For seniors, these courses are normally held twice a year, in February and September, and last for four sessions. Equipment necessary for the course is provided.
Once the course is completed, participants have the option to join the club and continue with archery.
