Aqua tec swim school, located in Loughborough, New Zealand, was founded by Lisa Coe and Kathryn Potter in January 2017. With a passion for swimming and teaching, they aim to provide high-quality swimming lessons in a safe and nurturing environment.
At Aqua tec swim school, they take pride in their small class sizes, ensuring that each child receives individual attention and guidance. The instructors, including Lisa, Kathryn, Sian, Charlotte, Tiga, Scarlett, Georgia, and Lily, are highly trained and committed to maintaining a high standard of teaching across the programme.
The swim school offers a wide range of lessons for children of all ages and abilities. They have pre-school classes specifically designed for children aged 12 months to approximately 3 years. The Starfish classes are a perfect introduction to swimming, where children and adults learn through games, songs, and rhymes, building confidence in the water. The STAnley Swimmers classes are the first step into independent swimming for pre-school-aged children who have gained water confidence.
For school-age children, Aqua tec swim school follows the STA International Learn to Swim Programme (ILPS) from September 2021. They provide fun and inspirational lessons using a variety of different awards to keep swimmers motivated. Depending on attendance, they aim for each child to achieve one STA certificate per term. The programme includes beginner, beginner+, intermediate, improver, advanced, and advanced+ levels, focusing on developing swimming skills, water safety awareness, and coordination.
The swim school operates on Monday to Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. The facility is conveniently located at De Lisle College on Thorpe Hill in Loughborough.
