Dive into swimming with Aquafins, a family-run swim school in Crawley. With 15 years of experience, Owen and his team have been offering top-notch, safe, and enjoyable swimming lessons for kids. Located at Cottesmore School in Pease Pottage, Aquafins operates in a fantastic 20-metre pool, always kept at a comfortable 30 degrees. Parents can easily watch their child’s lesson from the designated seating area, and there are plenty of parking spaces available.
Owen's instructors bring over 40 years of combined experience to the pool, ensuring every child gets quality attention. With small class sizes—up to six kids in beginner classes—Owen's team makes sure each child progresses confidently. Instructors are in the water with beginners, guaranteeing a safe and attentive learning environment. Once the children can swim, class sizes increase to a maximum of eight.
Aquafins’ swimming programme covers all four strokes: front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly, alongside various water skills. Once swimmers reach a certain standard, they can continue with Aquafins as a Rookie Lifeguard or join squad training. Both avenues offer skill development, water survival and rescue skills, CPR introduction, team building, and more. 🏊♀️
Owen believes in teaching children to swim the right way following the Amateur Swimming Association National Plan. Kids are regularly tested for their badges and distance achievements, helping to keep them motivated through attainable milestones.
Aquafins Swim School is conveniently located at Cottesmore School, Burchan Hill, Pease Pottage, Crawley, RH11 9AU. Enter through the main school entrance opposite Grouse Road and follow the bumps down School Lane. The pool is on the left, with parking available on both sides.

Committed to developing swimming skills from beginners to rookie lifeguards and squad training, Owen's school has seen many students progress from novices to lifeguards. The Rookie Lifeguard programmes, in collaboration with the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), teach survival and rescue skills, teamwork, and peer support, along with an introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 🤿
