Apollo Badminton Club is a friendly and welcoming club based in Canterbury, New Zealand. We invite both new and experienced players to join us for social badminton and competitive league matches. Our club nights are open to both members and non-members, with a session fee of just 5. This provides a great opportunity to play and socialise with fellow badminton enthusiasts.
During the league season, which runs from September to April, we field men's, ladies, mixed, and composite league teams in the local North Foreland area. Our home matches are played on Thursday nights at St Anselms School Sports Hall. The hall is located behind the school in a large green building, with ample parking spaces available. Look out for a big sign on the nearby roadside fence to find us easily.
At Apollo Badminton Club, we have 4 courts available for play during non-school exam times. We play doubles matches using feather shuttlecocks, providing an authentic and challenging badminton experience. Our club is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players, regardless of skill level or experience.
During the summer months, when the regular badminton season has ended, we offer a summer club on a pay and play basis. The cost for summer club evenings is 5, and participants are required to bring their own racquet and a pair of trainers. All other equipment is provided by the club. The summer club runs from June until the end of August, giving players the opportunity to continue playing and enjoying the sport during the off-season.
We are excited to kick off our 23/24 membership season on Thursday, 7th September. Membership for the season is 100, which includes BE membership and a club t-shirt for new members. While not compulsory, wearing the club t-shirt creates a sense of unity and team spirit. Our club secretary can provide you with details on how to pay for membership.

Our dedicated club members regularly post updates about halls, timings, and other important information. They also share entertaining match reports accompanied by flattering match pictures.
