
The Anglesey Offshore Dinghy Race, also known as AODR, is the North West's premier offshore dinghy and catamaran race. It has been held since 1965 and has become an iconic event in the region. The next race is planned to take place on the 18th of August 2024. The race welcomes both returning sailors and new entrants.
In 2023, the race was held on the 13th of August. It followed the traditional course starting from Beaumaris on the picturesque Menai Straits and finishing at Traeth Bychan on the island's north-eastern coast. The total distance covered was over 15 nautical miles. The race is part of the Allen Endurance Series.

The race begins off The Green at Beaumaris and heads northeast along the Menai Straits. The fleet then passes between Puffin Island and Anglesey, before reaching Red Wharf Bay. The most northerly mark is off Moelfre, and then the fleet turns back to finish off Traeth Bychan at the Red Wharf Bay Sailing and Watersports Club.
