Miss Joanne's love for dance began at a young age, attending ballet classes since the age of 2. Over the years, she has studied various dance styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, and national dance. Her dedication and talent led her to successfully audition for a place at the prestigious Northern Ballet School in Manchester at the age of 16, where she graduated from the Professional Dance Teachers course with the Northern Ballet School Diploma. Miss Joanne has also received teaching qualifications with the RAD and ISTD, as well as in child psychology, history of dance, and anatomy.
With a wealth of experience in teaching dance both in part-time schools and full-time colleges, Miss Joanne has entered her pupils for examinations with the RAD and ISTD, consistently achieving high marks. She has also choreographed for various shows, including performances at renowned venues such as London Palladium, Disneyland Paris, and The Palace Theatre in Manchester. Miss Joanne's dedication to the art of dance and her desire to share her passion with others led her to establish Ambitions Dance School.
Over the years, Ambitions Dance School has become known for its friendly, family-like atmosphere. The school organises various events, including the popular Dance Spectaculars held every other year, which have raised substantial amounts of money for charity. Additionally, Ambitions Dance School has participated in May Queen Festivals and produces and directs Lymm Dance Night as part of the Lymm Festival every summer. These opportunities allow the pupils to showcase their talent and gain valuable performance experience.
At Ambitions Dance School, Miss Joanne and her fully qualified teachers, Miss Emma and Miss Jenny, are committed to helping each pupil achieve their best in their chosen dance lessons. The school follows the syllabus of the RAD and ISTD, ensuring that students receive the highest quality training. Examinations are not compulsory, but they provide a structured and comprehensive approach to dance education.
Ambitions Dance School has produced many successful dancers who have gone on to pursue careers in dance, enrolling in prestigious dance degree courses and vocational training programmes at institutions such as Trinity Laban, Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, DanceCity, Shockout, and North Liverpool Dance Academy.
The school offers a wide range of classes for different age groups and skill levels, including ballet, modern, tap, jazz, and national dance. Class prices start from 5. 00 each, and for the first couple of weeks, students have the option to pay-as-you-go. Beyond that, payment is required termly, following the same term dates as local schools.
