Altofts Cricket Club

Altofts Cricket Club, led by John Kelly, is a thriving family cricket club based in Normanton, United Kingdom. It's deeply integrated into the community, providing cricket opportunities for adults and children from the age of 6.

John Kelly’s senior teams compete in the prestigious Bradford League, a leading amateur cricket league in the county. The First XI and Second XI teams play 22 competitive games from April to September. In 2020, the 1st XI won the Division 3 Covid Cup, remaining unbeaten and triumphing over Rodley CC in the final. They also claimed the Twenty/20 Competition titles in 2022 and 2017. Recently, in 2023, the 1st XI earned promotion to Division 2 of the Bradford Premier Cricket League.

Kelly takes immense pride in the club’s junior programme, which includes over 50 members aged 6 to 17, playing in the Heavy Woollen Junior League and the Leeds & Wetherby League. The club focuses on player development, with many juniors advancing to senior cricket. In the 2022 season, more than 25 former and current juniors played for the 1st and 2nd Teams.

Altofts CC operates year-round with indoor practices during winter and outdoor sessions in summer evenings. Qualified members provide coaching for juniors, ensuring their growth and development. The club holds Clubmark accreditation, a testament to its commitment to providing a supportive environment for players.

To maintain and develop its facilities, Altofts CC relies on volunteers and local business support. The club offers sponsorship packages for businesses looking to enhance their brand profile or support their community. Volunteers are always welcome to help with coaching, managing, or match day organisation.

Sponsorship from various businesses plays a crucial role, and the club regularly announces fundraising opportunities. A notable effort is the partnership with Easy Fundraising, where supporters can raise donations for the club while shopping online, with over 4,000 retailers participating, including John Lewis, Argos, and eBay.

Match results are frequently updated on social media and the club’s website, showcasing victories against teams like East Leeds CC and Brighouse CC.
