Established in 1974, Alsager Company of Archers is located on the outskirts of Alsager, South Cheshire, close to Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent. With around 90 members, the club provides a friendly yet competitive atmosphere for archers of all skill levels and ages.
The club covers various bow disciplines, including Recurve, Compound, Longbow, and Barebow, catering to everyone. Alsager Company of Archers is well-known in Cheshire for producing top-notch archers who've represented the county, the region, and Great Britain internationally. Notable members include Sylvia Harris, Matthew Grey, Andrew Lewis, Mike Wheeler, and Thomas Nairn.

Prospective members can join the Beginners Courses, led by ArcheryGB Level 2 Coaches Martin Bourke, John Lewis, Avril Bourke, Carole Veale, Amy Lewis, Rob Green, and Rachel Garratt. These courses include four two-hour weekly sessions, with all equipment provided. The course covers basic shooting techniques, safety, buying equipment, and club membership. Handouts are emailed before each session to supplement the lessons.
The first session of 2024 will be held at The Quinta Primary School in Congleton, with future courses planned at the club’s range at Cranberry Academy in Alsager. The course fee is £50, and early registration is recommended due to limited spots. Payment must be made in advance to secure a place.
