Alsager Company of Archers, a well-established archery club in Stoke-on-Trent, is excited to announce an upcoming local archery event that is not to be missed! With a rich history dating back to its founding in 1974, this club has been a pillar of the archery community in the area.
Originally born from an Evening Class at the local Comprehensive School, Alsager Company of Archers quickly branched out into two separate clubs – the Town Club and the School Club. The School Club, in particular, has earned its reputation for nurturing and developing highly skilled archers who have proudly represented Great Britain in various competitions.
As the years went by and the club's popularity soared, there was a pressing need for better facilities and more shooting time. In response, in 1994, the club made a significant decision to relocate to Cranberry Lane County Junior School. This move allowed them to access superior facilities and dedicate more time to honing their archery skills.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Foundation for Sports and Arts, Alsager Company of Archers was able to invest in secure storage and update their beginner's equipment, making it easier than ever for newcomers to get started on their archery journey. Today, the club boasts an impressive membership of around 70 dedicated archers who share a passion for the sport.
In 2008, the club's commitment to providing exceptional facilities was further demonstrated with the construction of a brand-new clubhouse. This addition not only enhanced the overall experience for members but also created a welcoming and social atmosphere that encourages friendship, camaraderie, and the sharing of archery knowledge.
