Allied Schools of Dance

Allied Schools of Dance is a reputable dance school based in Woodley and Wokingham, Berkshire. The school, run by a dedicated family, offers a wide range of classes for all ages starting from 2. 5 years old. With highly qualified teaching staff, students have the opportunity to learn ballet, tap, modern, jazz, limbering, and musical theatre.

Charlie Small, a former student, is an expert in Sports and Exercise Science and takes limbering and conditioning classes. Jill Baird, the founder of the school, teaches ballet for the Academy Scholars and choreographs festival and competition dances. Cat Busk teaches classical ballet, contemporary dance, and body conditioning.

In addition to the core teaching team, Allied Schools of Dance welcomes guest teachers who are industry professionals. These guest teachers offer masterclasses and choreograph dances for the students. Zoe Binden, a former student, and Kathryn Barnes, a professional dancer and choreographer, teach ballet and jazz respectively. Emma Humpleman, another guest ballet teacher, holds LRAD Dip ARAD AISTD qualifications.

Behind the scenes, the administrative team ensures the smooth running of the school. From answering emails to organising large-scale events, they handle the day-to-day operations. Nichola Darwin, the Admin Manager, takes charge of administrative tasks and is known as the “Prop making Queen. ” Jade Gingell, a former student, excels in organisation and assists with administrative duties.

The school also boasts a Head Student Team who act as a bridge between students and teachers. These dedicated students support their peers and assist teachers during festivals, exam sessions, and behind-the-scenes activities. Ava, one of the Head Students, is a vital voice for the student body.
