Alexandra Indoor Heated Pool Inc. is a community-managed group founded by local parents in Alexandra, located in the beautiful Murrindindi Shire region of Taungurung country in North East Victoria. Our objective is to provide a cost-effective heated pool that is accessible all year round for the health, well-being, and safety of all Murrindindi residents.

Our pool, located at 53 Nihil Street, is a solar-heated above-ground salt mineral water pool that caters to individuals of all abilities. We are proud to offer personalised group and individual water safety and swimming lessons for all ages. Currently, we provide Learn to Swim programmes for babies, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults, as well as self-paced exercise programmes for adults (dependent on staff availability).

We would like to acknowledge the immense support we have received from Pick My Project and FRRR, along with the Murrindindi Shire Council and our landlord, in making this facility possible. None of this would have been achievable without the dedication of our volunteers, the continuous support of our community, and the unwavering commitment of our local business community, who have been with us every step of the way, even during the challenging times brought about by the pandemic.

We are constantly seeking aqua instructors and learn-to-swim teachers who can commit to working with us term by term. The ideal candidates would possess Australian qualifications, have a desire to excel in their role, and be able to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of our committee of management. Our sessions primarily run from 9 am to 1 pm and then from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm and cater to babies, preschool-aged children, and school-aged children.

The qualifications required to run various classes at our indoor heated pool include a current Austswim Certificate for Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety, a current First Aid Certificate, previous experience in the aquatics industry, a current Working with Children Check, and previous experience in “Learn to Swim” programmes. Additional qualifications such as the Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Infant Aquatics and the Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Aquatics for People with Disabilities are highly valued.
