Located in the heart of Alexander, the Alexander Rink has been a key hub for winter activities since its construction in 1927. The rink features an ice skating surface and two sheets of curling ice, providing a diverse range of recreational opportunities for the community. Over the years, the rink has undergone various changes and renovations to maintain its status as a central winter destination in Alexander.
Managed by a dedicated volunteer committee, the Alexander Rink continues to offer a range of activities for residents to enjoy. While there is no regular curling, the rink hosts men's and women's bonspiels each winter, attracting participants from the local area. In addition, the rink offers public skating sessions and organized recreational hockey games for enthusiasts of all ages.
The Alexander Rink is grateful for the support of local businesses, such as Sunrise Foods, who have generously contributed to the facility. Most recently, Sunrise Foods donated a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for use at the rink, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors and participants.
To stay up-to-date with the latest news and events at the Alexander Rink, community members are encouraged to join the Facebook group under “Alexander Ice Rink. “ Whether you're looking to lace up your skates for a leisurely glide on the ice or participate in a friendly game of hockey, the Alexander Rink is the place to be for winter fun in the community.
