Archibald's passion for dance began when he was living in Europe, and he started training in ballet and contemporary dance in Belgium and France. He studied with renowned teachers such as Marc Bogaerts, Dominique Lesdema and Jerme Andrews. After returning to Australia, Archibald continued his training in jazz and tap dance, learning from accomplished teachers like Jason Winters and Dein Perry.

In 1996, Archibald met Hilary Kaplan while she was examining in Sydney. They discovered a shared vision for creating a dance company that would offer a comprehensive range of dance styles and provide high-quality training to passionate dancers. This led to the founding of Alegria Dance Studios in 1998.

Alegria Dance Studios, located in Greenwich, is now one of Sydney's leading dance schools. The studio's name, “Alegria,” meaning “joy” in Spanish, reflects its mission of bringing happiness and passion into the lives of its students through dance.
