Janet wanted to share a few updates about the Akaroa Bridge Club and what's coming up.
The club is based in the scenic Pawsons Valley, Akaroa. It's a great spot for bridge lovers of all levels to get together, have fun, and enjoy some friendly competition.
Club games kick off again on January 29th, 2024. Before that, there's the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 22nd at 7:00 PM at the Akaroa Golf Club. If you're keen to brush up on your bridge skills or just starting out, beginners' lessons will be available in Autumn 2024.
From February to November, the main event happens every Monday night. Games start at 7:30 PM sharp, so make sure to be in your seat by 7:20 PM. The venue is the Akaroa Golf Club, 77 Pawsons Valley Road in Duvauchelle. Each session costs $5.00 per player.
Throughout the year, the club has some exciting events lined up. The Akaroa Scenic Tournament is happening on May 11th, 2024. Mark it in your calendars, you don't want to miss this chance to play in a stunning setting.
There's also the annual House of Cards exchange with other clubs, happening in Akaroa in 2024 - date to be confirmed. And, the Diamond Harbour annual exchange will be hosted by Diamond Harbour next year. Janet mentioned the club's Christmas Party and Prizegiving will be on December 2nd, 2024, with the location to be announced. Note, these events are members-only.
