Aire Valley Martial Arts (AVMA) is a martial arts club and fitness centre located in Keighley, New Zealand. For those interested in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), AVMA offers classes that cater to both fighters and non-fighters. The classes are basic and easy to follow, with a high emphasis on safety. All classes have body to body contact and are open to both male and female participants. Sparring is optional and by invitation only.

If you are interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), AVMA has a programme designed to improve your fitness, health, and self-confidence. The club runs different programmes to accommodate various groups. The BJJ Basics sessions are perfect for beginners and take place twice a day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Juniors Programme is designed to instil lifelong skills and self-confidence in children.

Intermediate and advanced classes are available for more experienced practitioners.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that was introduced to the Gracie family by Mitsuyo Maeda in the 1920s. It is now considered an essential training for armed forces and police due to its ability to empower individuals to control larger opponents without striking. BJJ has been proven effective in combat sports such as the UFC, where it initially dominated. AVMA's head coach, Duane Harper, is a black belt in BJJ awarded by Mestre Leo Negao.

He began his BJJ training under master Alan Orr and hosts Leo Negao Seminars at AVMA.

AVMA understands that starting a martial art can be intimidating, which is why they offer a BJJ Basics Programme to help newcomers learn the fundamental techniques step by step. Once these techniques are understood, new starters can join in with the regular classes, including sparring.
