Aikido Yuishinkai UK, based in Cambridge, is a branch of Aikido Yuishinkai International. The club offers training in the traditional Japanese martial art of aikido, which was created by Morihei Ueshiba in the 1940s. Ueshiba, also known as O Sensei, developed aikido by combining his religious beliefs and philosophies with various other martial arts he had studied.

Unlike other martial arts that rely on size and strength, aikido uses the aggressive intent and energy of an opponent to subdue them. This makes it an effective martial art for people of all ages and sizes. Aikido techniques can be used against single or multiple attackers and are often taught using traditional Japanese weapons such as the bokken and jo.

Maruyama Sensei's teachings and philosophy are deeply ingrained in the practises and principles of Aikido Yuishinkai UK.
