Aikido Kokikai Australia Lismore Dojo is a reputable martial arts school located in Lismore, Australia. As a branch of Aikido Kokikai Australia, the dojo has a strong connexion to the international Aikido Kokikai family. Led by Dojo Leader Ian Newton, a 4th Dan practitioner, the Lismore Dojo is proud to be the first regional Kokikai Aikido Dojo in the country, established since 1991.
Aikido is a contemporary Japanese martial art that focuses on defensive techniques. The primary goal of Aikido Kokikai is to help individuals develop their innate potential. The techniques taught at the dojo emphasise harmonising with an attacker's force and redirecting it to gain control of the situation. This approach ensures that practitioners can protect themselves without causing harm to others.
One of the unique aspects of Aikido Kokikai is the co-operative attitude maintained during training. Students support and help each other to improve their skills, making it a welcoming environment for both experienced martial artists and those new to the practise. Even if you have trained in other styles of aikido or martial arts, you are encouraged to come and train at the Lismore dojo.
Beyond self-defence, Aikido Kokikai offers numerous benefits that extend into daily life. Through training, individuals can improve their physical fitness, coordination, balance, and mental clarity. Additionally, Aikido Kokikai cultivates discipline, focus, and confidence, which can be applied to various aspects of life.
The dojo is located at the Lismore PCYC and operates on Mondays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
