About
Maheno Aikido Oamaru is an Aikido dojo located just 10 minutes south of Oamaru. The dojo is currently based in the Maheno Hall and has been operating since April 11th, 2015. Aikido is a peaceful martial art that focuses on using circular movements to neutralise attacks. It emphasises techniques that are effective regardless of size or strength, making it suitable for people of all ages and genders.
Aikido is a non-competitive martial art that is learned cooperatively with training partners. This cooperative approach creates a safe and controlled environment to practise martial art techniques. Beyond its physical aspects, Aikido is also a way of life that cultivates harmony, peace, and compassion. Its founder, Morihei Ueshiba, believed that the true goal of Aikido is achieving self-victory in the present moment by overcoming limitations, fears, and ego.
Those interested in trying Aikido are warmly welcomed to attend a class. The first three lessons are free for anyone who wants to give it a go. The dojo encourages individuals to contact them via phone or visit the dojo directly. Located at Maheno School, 6 Short Street, R.
D. 6, O Maheno, 9495, Maheno Aikido Oamaru offers a friendly and inclusive environment for all those interested in learning the art of Aikido.
