Interested in joining but not sure about the details? Let us break it down for you. Aikido Victoria offers classes throughout the week, with some dojos focusing on basics and beginners. However, all classes warmly welcome new starters. Check out our Class Times for more information on when and where these classes take place.
Now, let's talk about the cost and what you need to wear. In your first month of training, a long-sleeved T-shirt and track pants would do just fine. Just make sure to leave any jewellery at home, as it is not allowed during training. For further details, take a look at our New Student Information Handbook.
Now, uniforms. They are definitely a financial investment, but if you're keen on purchasing one, Aikido Australia has got you covered. You can find a range of uniforms in our online shop. Keep in mind that there are two fees to consider: national membership fees and training fees. The national membership fee needs to be paid upfront before you can start training. We recommend starting with a 3-month introductory membership for new members. If you decide to continue training beyond that, you can sign up for an annual membership at any time. This membership covers all dojos in Victoria and Australia. Training fees are what you pay for each class. Now, do you need to book a class? Luckily, no. You are more than welcome to come and watch a class without booking in advance. In fact, we require visitors to watch a class before their first training session. It gives you a chance to get a feel for the dojo and chat with the instructor during or after the class.
