Darwin Obedience Dog Club is thrilled to invite all dog enthusiasts to join us for an exciting Dog Sports event – Agility! This high-energy sport promises to complement the skills you've learned in our obedience classes, while providing a fantastic opportunity for both you and your furry friend to stay fit and have a blast.
In Agility, the objective is to navigate a course filled with various obstacles in the quickest time possible, all while avoiding any faults. These faults could include accidentally knocking a bar down on a jump, missing an obstacle altogether, approaching an obstacle from the wrong direction, or even completing the obstacles in the wrong sequence. But don't fret! Our experienced trainers will be there to guide you and your four-legged partner every step of the way.
No matter the size of your dog, you'll find a level playing field in our Agility classes. We ensure fairness by separating dogs into height categories. So, if you have a 'little dog', they won't be expected to jump the same height as a 'big dog'. We believe it's only fair to let a Yorkie be a Yorkie, rather than trying to mimic a Great Dane!
Agility classes take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, providing you with plenty of opportunities to participate. Please note that there will be no training sessions held in December or January, allowing everyone to enjoy the holiday season.
For those new to Agility, our Beginner classes are the perfect starting point. You'll have the chance to familiarise yourselves with the equipment and learn the fundamentals of this exciting sport. Intermediate participants can join our dedicated Intermediate classes, where you'll further enhance your skills and continue to improve. Meanwhile, our Advanced class is reserved for those who have already mastered the art of Agility and are ready to take on more challenging tasks.
So, mark your calendars and get ready for an exhilarating adventure at Darwin Obedience Dog Club's Agility event. Join us in celebrating the incredible bond between humans and their furry companions, as we leap, dash, and weave our way through obstacles. It's time to discover the joy of Agility together!
