About
Peter Khambatta invites sports enthusiasts to join Adventure Nevis, a prestigious mountaineering class based in Fort William. With over 30 years of experience, Peter, an adept and qualified Mountain Leader, guides participants on exhilarating walks and ascents of Ben Nevis, the tallest peak in the British Isles.
The Mountain Footpath ascent, suitable for public, private, and charity groups, offers a 4-hour journey to the summit, incorporating essential map reading and navigation skills. For those seeking a more demanding challenge, the Steall Falls Ascent and CMD Arete routes are also available. The Steall Falls Ascent, starting from the Youth Hostel in Glen Nevis, spans 8 to 9 hours and features remarkable views of Steall waterfall and a climb through a remote glen. Alternatively, the CMD Arete route begins at the North Face car park in Torlundy, requiring approximately 6 hours to complete, including a climb to the summit of Carn Mor Dearg at 1,220 metres followed by a traverse to Ben Nevis' peak.
Safety remains a top priority for Adventure Nevis. Peter and his team of qualified Mountain Leaders bring extensive knowledge of the mountain and its unpredictable weather. They provide guidance on appropriate gear, nutrition, hydration, and weather preparedness.
Adventure Nevis prides itself on delivering value for money and strives to lead every participant to the summit. Flexible start times accommodate different schedules, and Peter’s local expertise on Fort William’s accommodations and dining options further eases planning for the participants.
Participants must bring essential gear, including walking boots, waterproof jackets and trousers, fleece jackets, hats, gloves, sunglasses, sun cream, and a packed lunch and drink. During winter, ice axes and crampons are required and can be hired from Adventure Nevis.
With strong positive reviews from past participants, Peter Khambatta’s Adventure Nevis offers a professional, safe, and rewarding mountaineering experience in the heart of the United Kingdom.
