The program follows a 3 step approach, designed to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. In Stage 1, children will learn the importance of physical activity preparation, warm-up techniques, and the use of endurance and stamina in distance swimming. Additionally, they will master the proper arm and leg actions for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly, as well as vital start/turn/finish techniques.
Moving on to Stage 2, the swimmers will delve into the realm of water safety and rescue techniques. They will learn about emergency signals, gain an understanding of basic aid techniques for a choking adult, and practice submerging and diving. In addition, they will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to save an injured swimmer. Nautical awareness and safety knowledge will also be a key focus area during this stage.
Throughout the program, children will have the opportunity to showcase their mastery of equipment usage and demonstrate their understanding of environmental education and safety.
