Adjust Pilates is a small boutique Pilates and strength studio located in the beautiful Macedon Ranges of Central Victoria. With a focus on delivering scientifically-based Pilates and strength training, Adjust Pilates aims to help its clients become stronger, more flexible, more confident in their bodies, and to have fun while achieving these goals.
The studio offers three classes to cater to different needs and preferences: strength classes, clinical Pilates classes, and reformer Pilates classes. These classes are run by experienced instructors Justin O'Donohue, who has over 10 years of teaching Pilates, and Audrey O'Donohue, who has been teaching since 2019.
At Adjust Pilates, the mission is to provide an inclusive environment where individuals from all walks of life can enhance their strength and mobility, ultimately improving their quality of life. The studio takes pride in creating a relaxed atmosphere that allows clients to enjoy their sessions and have fun. With a high level of expertise and a commitment to evidence-based research, Adjust Pilates provides exercise therapy for various musculoskeletal conditions, including spinal disc injuries, pre and post hip and knee replacements, shoulder pain, and tendinopathies. The studio also offers general strength improvement programmes.
Adjust Pilates was founded by Justin O'Donohue in 2017. Justin has a diverse background in the field, having worked as a myotherapist before completing a Diploma in Rehabilitation Pilates through Polestar Pilates in 2009. He furthered his study by completing a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (with distinction) at CQU in 2018 and a Masters in Strength and Conditioning at Edith Cowan University in 2021. Justin has been teaching clinically based Pilates since 2010 and introduced strength classes to the business in 2022.
The pricing options at Adjust Pilates cater to different preferences and needs. The studio offers a variety of packages and passes for both individual sessions and group classes. These include a 12-week term pass combining strength and Pilates classes, as well as options for 10-session passes and individual sessions. Pricing for reformer Pilates classes and strength classes are also available.
For those interested in participating in the group reformer classes, these classes utilise a variety of reformer, mat, and small apparatus exercises to build strength, improve mobility, and enhance flexibility. Participants in these classes perform the same prescribed exercises as directed by the instructor. With a maximum of four people per class, these high-energy sessions are designed to be fun and inclusive, catering to all levels of ability with appropriate progressions and regressions of exercises.
The clinical Pilates groups at Adjust Pilates involve an initial assessment in two to three private sessions, where clients' movement and strength are evaluated. This assessment allows instructors to tailor specific programmes to address any musculoskeletal conditions or injuries. These classes utilise all the main Pilates apparatus, including the trapeze table, wunda chair, ladder barrel, reformer, and spine corrector. Programmes are regularly updated and progressed week by week, ensuring that clients are constantly moving towards their goals and improved movement.
