Club is a long-standing figure skating club located in Acton, serving the community since 1964. The club offers a variety of programs for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Skating Season is currently underway, with registration closed for Learn to Skate programs for this season. Lessons will finish in early March, with the next session scheduled to start in October 2024 for Learn to Skate Programs such as Canskate, Pre-Canskate, and PrePower.
The Figure Skating Program (Starskate) begins in September.
In addition to the regular programming, Acton Skating Club offers a daytime Learn to Skate option, with a new Thursday morning session for young skaters, including Parent and Tot sessions for ages 2-4, and Pre-Canskate sessions for ages 3-5. The club also offers a Full Season Discount for Learn to Skate Programs, with a $50 discount available when registering for both fall and winter programs by a certain deadline.
Acton Skating Club actively seeks volunteers to help run programs, with opportunities for high school students to earn volunteer hours by assisting as program assistants on the ice. The club also offers an Adult Learn to Skate program on Thursdays, providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for adults to learn from professional coaches.
For those interested in becoming a volunteer, Acton Skating Club encourages reaching out to board members or sending an email for more information. The club looks forward to offering a range of programs in the 2023/2024 season, including Pre-Canskate, CanSkate, Pre-Power, and StarSkate sessions.
In addition to regular updates and news, Acton Skating Club also hosts an Annual General Meeting and provides updates on program schedules. The club follows the latest learning standards set by Skate Canada and aims to provide a positive and supportive environment for all skaters.
