Acton Cricket Club, established in 1908, stands as one of Middlesex's premier cricket clubs in West London. Laurence, the organiser, has built a reputation for the club's success and inclusivity, attracting players of all ages and skill levels. On Saturdays, the club fields four competitive adult teams and two on Sundays, ensuring a bustling cricket environment for both adults and juniors.
Situated at Club Des Sports in West London, Acton CC boasts top-notch playing and training facilities. Laurence recently spearheaded an investment in new state-of-the-art practice setups, enhancing training sessions and supporting the club's growth.
The adult teams, including the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XIs, battle it out in the Middlesex County League throughout the summer—one of the most competitive leagues around. Senior players have outdoor practice every Thursday, with more chances for extra training during the week. Even in winter, Acton CC keeps the momentum going with indoor nets at Lords Cricket Ground, keeping the squad in top shape year-round.
Laurence has a keen focus on nurturing young talent. The vibrant juniors section features over 120 boys and girls, aged from Under 9s to Under 17s. Seasoned coaches and senior players ensure all youngsters get the guidance they need. Juniors also get their fair share of competitive cricket with several age groups taking part in local leagues.
The club's strong team spirit and friendly culture have been cornerstone values for Laurence. As an affiliated club to Middlesex Cricket, Acton CC adheres to the ECB’s In Safe Hands and Anti-Discrimination policies, guaranteeing a safe and welcoming environment.
