The club has recently moved to its winter training facilities and wishes to remind all parents and coaches about the importance of respecting the access and safety needs of local residents. They kindly request everyone to use the designated car parking area indicated on the map to ensure everyone's convenience and safety. A short walk from the parking area will lead parents, coaches, and players to the Astro training grounds.
The young talents on the 2012 team have made an impressive start to their first season playing 9v9s. The club applauds their efforts and encourages them to continue their hard work. It is worth noting that the team's success may be attributed to their dedicated coaching staff, which includes the boys' father, Stevie B.
AC Oxgangs experienced a stroke of luck when their 2007 team had the opportunity to receive surplus Mitre balls from Hearts' kit manager Alan Melrose. Following a quick email to Anne Budge, owner of Hearts, a meeting was arranged at The Oriam where the handover took place in the presence of the team's kit manager. This memorable experience was made even more special as young Ryan, the son of Stevie B, assisted during the event. Meeting some of his football heroes was undoubtedly a highlight for Ryan.
Another notable event for the club was the Players v Parents match, which saw the 2010 team competing against their parents. Although the older generation emerged victorious, the players enjoyed the experience and cherished the moment. The club extends its gratitude to Jack for capturing the special moment in a photograph.
Fundraising and community support are vital for AC Oxgangs to thrive, and they express their deepest gratitude to their sponsors for their generosity. P&D Scaffolding Contracts Ltd, Harris Butchers, Redpath and McLean Motor Company Ltd, Windsor Heating Services, Jump Edinburgh Fitness and Events, and Style Joinery & Building are among the sponsors who have made a difference to the club. Their contributions are highly valued, and they truly embody the spirit of community football.
The club takes pride in its involvement in tournaments and events that allow players to showcase their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of the football community. From the Easthouses YFC Gala Tournament to the Youth Football Scotland Media Roadshow at Tynecastle, the players of AC Oxgangs have been actively engaged and enthusiastic participants in the footballing world.
AC Oxgangs is also committed to its community and has installed a defibrillator on the wall of the Scotmid Store in Oxgangs Road North, close to the entrance of Colinton Mains Park Pavillion.
