The Academy truly believes in empowering individuals and spreading the word about the benefits of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Their instructors teach from the heart and are dedicated to educating and supporting their students. They also offer traditional Yang style Tai Chi, which is characterised by medium posture and exciting movements.
Both classes incorporate Qi Gong exercises to enhance the overall experience and effectiveness of the practise.
In addition to their regular classes, the Academy also offers a Health Qi Gong Instructor Course. This course provides individuals with the opportunity to become qualified instructors in the practise of Health Qi Gong. The Academy takes pride in being one of only three places in Norfolk that offer this training. This course is a wonderful opportunity for those who are passionate about Tai Chi and Qi Gong to deepen their knowledge and share it with others.
The Academy Tai Chi is led by Barbara and Alan Smith, who have extensive experience and qualifications in Tai Chi and fitness instruction. Alan's journey to Tai Chi began with boxing at a young age and eventually led him to become a regional coach with the British WuShu Association. Barbara and Alan are also members of the Tai Chi Institute for Health, continuously enhancing their skills and knowledge to ensure the best possible instruction for their students.
The Academy Tai Chi operates from two locations, with classes held at the Community Centre in Swaffham and Toftwood Village Hall in East Dereham.
