Paul runs the Academy of Martial Arts NZ Papatoetoe, an epic martial arts club right in the heart of Auckland. Part of the Martial Arts Association of New Zealand, Paul ensures top-tier training drawing from techniques around the globe—think China, Japan, Korea, Brazil, and more.
Self-defence is the name of the game here. Paul offers sessions for all ages: juniors get their turn on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, while seniors hit the mat right after, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. For those chasing the black belt dream, there’s a special class on Saturdays.
Paul’s crew of instructors? Absolutely solid. Fully qualified and internationally recognised, they keep the vibe friendly and fun while making sure everyone trains in a safe, clean environment.
Always pushing to be better, Paul focuses on upskilling instructors, setting goals, and building good habits. Leadership? You bet. His team leads by example, setting the bar high for all members.
Teamwork powers everything at the Academy. Paul’s philosophy? Support your mates and build a tight-knit community. This extends to personal growth too, both physically and mentally—instilling values like respect, courage, and humility.
Paul knows that understanding martial arts goes beyond practice—it's about knowledge, experience, wisdom, and insight. He packs his training with lessons that build a well-rounded understanding for each student.
