The “Academy of Integrated Martial Arts” (AIMA) in Richmond Hill is a well-established martial arts school with a focus on creating a fun, safe, and family-orientated environment for learning and fitness. Established in 2002, AIMA has introduced its program to thousands of people in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. The organization spans across Canada and internationally, with programs also being taught in various public and private schools.
At AIMA, everyone is welcome to come train, regardless of age, size, gender, fitness levels, or previous martial arts experience. The school offers a wide variety of classes for different interests, levels, and ages, with small class sizes and a teacher-student ratio of 9 to ensure individual attention. The curriculum at AIMA integrates traditional martial arts techniques such as kicks, blocking, and stances with boxing, knees/elbows, grappling (Buno), and weapons defence training (Arnis/Kali).
The Chief Instructor at AIMA is Guro Pak Chan, a 4th Degree Black Belt who has been training in various martial arts for over 20 years. With a solid understanding of different styles, Guro Pak has been teaching martial arts for over 15 years and holds numerous national and international titles. He focuses on building a school based on respect, confidence, and focus. Additionally, Joanna Chan, an Instructor and 1st Degree Black Belt at AIMA, brings her expertise as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist to provide nutrition and lifestyle counselling for members and their families.
