During her time volunteering at Riding for the Disabled, Anna witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that horses can have on individuals with disabilities. She saw how riding and interacting with horses can improve physical strength, coordination, balance, and communication skills. It was then that she knew she wanted to combine her passion for horses with her desire to help others.
Ability Horsemanship was founded with the goal of providing full support for riders of all ages living with a broad range of disabilities. Anna and her team of dedicated and experienced coaches work closely with clients to tailor individual sessions that meet their specific needs. They have experience working with clients with conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Depression, Anxiety, Stroke, PTSD, Attention Deficit Disorder, Learning and Developmental Impairment, Acquired Brain Injury, and many others.
Safety is the highest priority at Ability Horsemanship. The sessions are fun-filled and individually tailored to extend and encourage movement, all while providing the best safety equipment available. Riders are provided with safety air bag vests, which are used by the Japanese Motorcycle Police, as well as safety helmets. The facility is purpose-built and designed to ensure the safety of both the riders and the horses. It includes a mounting ramp, an undercover arena, and beautiful scenery that makes every riding session an absolute pleasure.
