To establish the Abbrook Park Bowling Club. With the support and guidance of experienced bowlers, the club officially began its journey.
Currently, Abbrook Park Bowling Club boasts over 80 playing members and is a proud participant in various leagues and competitions. The men's teams compete in the Mid-Devon League (MDL) and the Over 55 League, while the ladies' team represents the club in the South Devon League (SDL). Additionally, the club also takes part in County Competitions and arranges friendly matches with local teams.
The club warmly welcomes new players of all ages and offers a friendly and inclusive environment for everyone. Bowls, as a game, is easy to learn but challenging to master, making it a captivating sport for individuals seeking excitement and skill development. Beyond the sporting aspect, Abbrook Park Bowling Club offers a vibrant social scene. During the winter months, members utilise a short mat within the clubhouse for indoor bowling. On selected mornings, the club organises Canasta and board game sessions. Coffee mornings are held every second Saturday of the month, providing members with an opportunity to socialise and build connexions.
Additionally, Club Night takes place on Fridays, featuring a delightful meal for participants to enjoy.
The clubhouse is equipped with a newly refurbished kitchen, fully stocked bar, and offers a range of draught beverages including lager, bitter, and cider. These amenities facilitate a lively and enjoyable atmosphere where members can relax and make lasting memories with fellow bowlers.
