Join the Selmwood Carp Fishing Club, just outside Edinburgh in the stunning Selm Muir woodlands at the foot of the Pentland Hills. You’ll enjoy Scotland’s top spot for Carp fishing, with impressive catches over 35lb!
Organiser Mark ensures a serene environment for all members by keeping the area clean and protecting local wildlife. Just remember to take your rubbish home, dispose of cigarette butts in the sand buckets provided and leave the fires at home.
The club is strictly for Carp fishing – no coarse fishing allowed here. Feel free to bring your kids under 16 for free, but they must fish with an adult. Keep your bait-shop ready, as homemade baits are not allowed. You'll love the in-house custom boilies at just £10 per kilo.
For the eco-conscious among us, Mark insists on biodegradable baits only, no braided mainlines, wire traces, or artificial baits. Pets and BBQs are also a no-go to preserve the peaceful setting.
Fishing pegs are designated, and rigs need to be safe with easy lead discharge. Use micro-barbed or barbless hooks and keep antiseptic gel handy for fish care.
Membership perks include priority online booking, Christmas and birthday vouchers, and discounted custom baits. A joining fee is £300, but if recommended by a member, it’s just £150. Annual renewals are £150.
You can opt for a 24-hour permit for £20, allowing fishing from noon to noon the next day, with possible early arrival from 7am if available.
Come be a part of Selmwood, where Mark’s passion for Carp fishing and nature’s beauty creates the perfect retreat for anglers. Join today and enjoy the best Carp fishing experience in Kirknewton!
