Our mission is to help you to learn to play a game basketball at a competitive level. This is accomplished by providing a foundation in the many individual skills required to be a strong basketball [layer. Equally important, our coach teaches our players to use these skills effectively as a team.
Our goal is to develop players that can perform at a local or regional level. Most importantly, players at every level consistently demonstrate continued improvement over time.
Of utmost importance in achieving our mission for our members is that we focus on the development of our [layers as individuals and as a team.
The Yamba Basketball programme emphasises four core principles – teamwork, character development, maintaining rule knowledge and personal fitness – to achieve the mission.
Our programme aims to teach young women and men the importance of teamwork by learning to meet, develop relationships, and work with new people in their lives to achieve excellence on the court – something that will be significant throughout life. Character development occurs through good sportsmanship and ambassadorship in representing the Yamba basketball club to the community, and in playing local, regional and national competitions. Personal fitness both physical and mental is developed through the medium of competitive basketball requiring and maintaining a healthy lifestyle along with physical and mental fitness through practises and competitions.
Parents have a significant role to play in the Yamba Basketball Basketball Inc. We encourage open communication between parents and officials, to help ensure that concerns about their child are appropriately addressed. Is to provide a community-based basketball environment, which is the association of choice that encourages all participants to achieve their best, to provide a safe, enjoyable and integrated team sport that is fare and community based, multicultural and non-discriminatory towards any individual or group.
