The Wyong Roos Junior Rugby League Football Club (JRLFC) is a prominent and long-established sports club located in Central Coast, New South Wales. With a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1910, the Wyong Roos JRLFC has become the largest junior rugby league club on the Central Coast.
The club was born out of the local district encompassing Dooralong, Wyong, Jilliby, Tuggerah, and Morriset. Originally, the club was based at Baker Park in Central Wyong before moving to its current location at Chelmsford Road in Charmhaven.
The driving force behind the relocation was Morry Breen, an individual with remarkable vision. Thanks to his efforts, the club was able to purchase five and three-quarter acres of land on Arizona Road in Kanwal. Additionally, the club leased another thirteen acres adjacent to the land. The original home on the property served as the clubhouse for meetings until it was sold and moved to its current location.
After the move, the club saw a flurry of development and growth. The main oval and initial clubhouse were constructed, and the club was granted a full liquor licence. Trading operations commenced on March 6, 1973, under the management of Keith Riley. Following Keith's resignation in 1974, Harry Storm took over as the assistant manager, supported by Hilton Robinson and Keith Barben.
As a thriving sports club, Wyong Roos JRLFC offers a wide range of age categories in which juniors can participate, including under 6's, under 7's, under 8's, under 9's, under 10s, under 11's, under 12's, under 13's, under 14's, under 15's, under 16's, and under 17's.
