About
This Wyalkatchem Cricket Association has a long history in Wyalkatchem and its surrounding shires. With competitive cricket being played in the area as early as 1911, the competition has seen a number of changes since then with various teams joining and exiting.
The area which the WCA encompasses now was once home to 5 separate cricket leagues, but after various amalgamations, that was reduced to one. In its current format the WCA peaked at 10 teams in the late 1990s, but now operates with 6 teams representing Dowerin, Goomalling, Koorda/Cadoux, West Yorkrakine, Wongan Hills and Wyalkatchem with Goomalling the reigning tops.
The WCA has had a strong showing at country week having played in A grade previously, and still enters 2 teams every year.
