Established in 1949, the Woodville Districts Tennis Association began with six clubs with the goal of promoting and organising tennis within the western suburbs of Adelaide. More than 50 years later, the Association has grown to 11 clubs, serving more than 650 junior and 350 senior members. In September 2009 the association decided to change its name to the Western Districts Tennis Association.
As the governing body of tennis within the Western suburbs, the Western Districts Tennis Association is responsible for the administration and growth of the game within the district.
