Running needs and goals. Visitors are encouraged to join us for a two-week trial for free, allowing them to experience the club's supportive and inclusive environment firsthand.
Woodstock Runners takes pride in its team of Athletics NSW accredited coaches who are dedicated to the development of all athletes regardless of their running abilities, experience, or age. These knowledgeable coaches lead our Monday and Thursday evening interval training sessions, providing a range of different interval and speed training sessions. These sessions take place at King George Park, Rozelle on Mondays and Campbell Athletic Field, Canterbury on Thursdays, both starting at 6:30pm. Each session includes a warm-up, cool-down, and stretches to ensure proper preparation and recovery.
In addition to the coached sessions, Woodstock Runners offers a variety of social runs throughout the week. On Tuesday evenings during Daylight Savings, members meet at Ewen Park, Hurlstone Park at 6:20pm to run courses alongside the picturesque Cooks River. Saturday mornings are reserved for a social run around Iron Cove Bay or through surrounding streets and parks, starting at Brett Park, Drummoyne at 7:20am. For those looking for longer training runs, Sunday mornings offer distances ranging from 12-30 km, starting from Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre at 7am.
These Sunday runs are self-organised, with pre-agreed routes planned via the dedicated members' Facebook page to ensure that runners of similar paces can run together.
Woodstock Runners encourages its members to participate in fun runs and races both as individuals and as part of a team. The club often organises internal events that combine social and sporting elements, such as the Handicap race series held on certain Saturdays throughout the year, utilising Sydney's growing parkrun events.
Woodstock Runners has been a staple in Sydney's Inner West running community since 1980, with a strong membership base ranging from 15 to 83 years of age. Whether you are a seasoned runner or just starting your running journey, Woodstock Runners welcomes all levels of running ability and ensures that no one is left behind. Come and join our running community and experience the camaraderie and support that Woodstock Runners offers.
