Woodbridge Soccer Club began life under the auspices of Kingborough Lions Soccer Club.
In 2001, it broke away from Kingborough Lions and became the Woodbridge Whalers Soccer Club catering to players aged 12 and under.
In 2004, as some original Junior players became teenagers, the club added youth teams to the line-up.
Also in 2008 the club fielded its first ever senior team, a Division 4 men's team.
In 2010 Woodbridge Soccer Club added a Division 2 Women's team to it's line up.
