The Wollondilly Auskick Centre, located in the Wollondilly Shire Council, is a sports club that offers the NAB AFL Auskick programme. As Australia's leading participation programme, Auskick aims to help children get active and build lasting friendships.
At the Wollondilly Auskick Centre, kids are introduced to Australian Football through fun and engaging game-based activities. Learning is disguised as playing, and children can start Auskick in the calendar year they turn 5, regardless of their previous Aussie Rules experience.
The experience at the Wollondilly Auskick Centre is all about organised chaos and perfect fun. The sessions, which run for one hour per week, focus on game-based activities to ensure that children are active and confident. In order to promote safe and fair play, Auskickers are divided into age groups, and optional all-girls groups are also available. Auskickers are encouraged to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, eliminating the need for expensive sports equipment.
In addition to the physical and social benefits, joining the Wollondilly Auskick Centre comes with numerous perks. Auskickers receive a unique pack of exclusive footy goodies, an Auskick Junior Club Membership for the AFL club of their choice, which includes access to games, and the opportunity to play halftime at AFL and AFLW elite matches alongside their footy heroes.
Parents are actively encouraged to participate in the NAB AFL Auskick programme. They can assist by coordinating activities, getting involved, or simply providing encouragement. Family involvement is crucial in creating a fun and inclusive environment for Auskickers.
The Wollondilly Auskick Centre also offers the chance to join Team NAB AFL Auskick. As a registered Auskicker, participants can enter a competition for a chance to win a spot in the team. Winners of this competition receive a Grand Final Week experience, the opportunity to present a medal to their footy heroes at the Grand Final, and $5,000 in spending money for the team captain.
