Wiliamstown Croquet Club was founded in 1926 and is located at 104 Victoria Street, Williamstown.
The beautiful, historic pavillion is a real feature of the club. At the front is a sheltered verandah ideal for enjoying those long summer evenings. Inside is a large clubroom, kitchen, equipment room and separate male and female toilets.
As well as regular club activities, the pavilion is used for social events and is available for hire for meetings and social events. We can also provide supervised croquet for your event.
Croquet is an addictive, challenging game that can be enjoyed by young and old, beginner and expert. In addition to the physical skill involved in playing the games there is also a significant tactical side to them.
We play the two main types of croquet during the week; association croquet and golf croquet.
Association croquet is the traditional game and has been described as “snooker on grass”.
Golf croquet is is an easier game for beginners and is a very popular social activity.
See The Games for more details about Association and Golf Croquet.
If you become a member, you are free to use use the facilities anytime they are free as well as participate in regular association croquet and golf croquet sessions during the week. Our more experienced players are always willing to spend time teaching newer players techniques and tips for playing the game.
We usually hold several social events throughout the year and these have included barbeques, Christmas parties and trivia evenings.
We also have at least one open day each year where anyone is welcome to come by and have a hit and a chat. These are always fun events and enjoyed by guests and members alike.
