Established over 50 years ago, the club has a rich history in motorcycle racing. In its early years, when motorcycles were the primary mode of transportation, racing was primarily done on oval tracks. Over the years, the Whyalla Motor Cycle Club has produced many State and National Champions in various disciplines, including Motor Cross, Enduro's, and Road Trials.
Today, the club participates in a wide range of off-road and on-road motorcycle activities. Members can take part in Enduro's, Pony Express, Road Trials, and Motor Cross events, both at the club and state level. These events cater to riders of all ages and abilities, whether they are beginners or experienced world champions. Safety is a top priority, with all events being supervised and often attended by St John's volunteers.
In addition to its sporting activities, the Whyalla Motor Cycle Club also fosters a vibrant social atmosphere. Members and their partners can enjoy a variety of social features, such as interclub cricket matches, trail rides, car rallies, weekends away, drinks nights, and barbecues.
