The club is home to Whyalla golf members and also welcomes casual golfers and visitors. The course offers a challenging 18 holes with fully grassed fairways and greens. The Golf Shop provides all the equipment needed for a round of golf, including clubs, golf carts, and electric buggies. Refreshments and a selection of golfer's needs are also available at the Golf Shop.
Men's Competitions take place on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday, while women are welcome to participate in weekend Competitions. Women's Competitions are also held on Tuesday and Thursday. Social golf is available for both members and visitors every day, with visitors advised to check with the Golf Shop for available times, particularly on Saturdays.
The Whyalla Golf Club has shown a commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2004, it joined forces with the Whyalla City Council for a water recycling project, becoming the largest single user of locally recycled water.
