Located in Western Sydney, the Western Sydney Cycling Network (WSCN) is a local sports club dedicated to promoting cycling and fostering a social and healthy lifestyle. The club consists of a group of passionate cyclists who come together to ride and engage in sustainable practises such as bike recycling.
One of the key features of WSCN is their recycling shed, where they provide a bicycle recycling service to the community. This initiative not only helps reduce waste but also allows individuals to access affordable bicycles. The club is open every Wednesday from 9am to 1pm for bike sales, providing an opportunity for the community to purchase bikes at affordable prices.
In addition to their recycling efforts, WSCN organises community rides on a regular basis. These rides offer participants an opportunity to explore the beautiful landscapes of Western Sydney while enjoying the company of fellow cyclists. The next community ride is scheduled for Sunday, 3 December 2023.
WSCN is supported by the Fairfield City Council, which provides the club with a clubhouse and bicycle recycling facility. This partnership reflects a shared vision between WSCN and the council in promoting health, waste reduction, and sustainable transport within the community.
To get involved with the Western Sydney Cycling Network, individuals can join the club and participate in their activities and initiatives. They can also attend the next bike sale, which will be held on Saturday, 18 November 2023, just in time for the Christmas holidays.
For more information and to get in touch with the club, individuals can visit their website or contact them via email at contactwscn@gmail. Com.
WSCN acknowledges the Cabrogal of the Darug Nation as the original inhabitants and traditional custodians of the lands on which they gather. The club pays respect to Ancestors and Elders, past, present, and future, and recognises the unique cultural and spiritual relationship, embracing the contributions of First Nations peoples to Australia.
Join the Western Sydney Cycling Network and be a part of a vibrant cycling community that promotes health, sustainability, and a shared love for cycling.
