Weir State School, located in Townsville, is a sports club dedicated to building strong, smart, and connected learners. The school offers a comprehensive programme of physical fitness and skills, with all students from Prep to Year 6 attending Physical Education (PE) lessons.

The school also organises inter-house sport activities such as swimming carnivals, athletics carnivals, and cross country events. In these events, students are divided into four house teams: Bradman (Royal Blue), Cuthbert (Yellow), Elliott (Green), and Fraser (Red).
