Wangaratta Target Archers is an archery club located in Wangaratta, Victoria. With a strong community and family atmosphere, the club welcomes members of all ages and experience levels who have a desire to participate in archery. From beginners to seasoned archers with over 40 years of experience, everyone is welcome at the club.
Affiliated with leading organisations such as World Archery, Archery Australia, and Archery Victoria, Wangaratta Target Archers is dedicated to developing archery as a fun and safe sport into the future. The club was founded in September 2012 as Wangaratta Archers and has experienced steady growth in membership since then.
The club boasts a well-maintained outdoor target range located next to the Wangaratta Speedway in the South Wangaratta Sports Reserve. Ample parking is available, and the club's weekly target shoot takes place on Sunday mornings. Additionally, the club offers an indoor target range, opened in April 2014, which is shared throughout the year. Thursday evenings are reserved for indoor shooting, accommodating up to 16 archers at a time.
Wangaratta Target Archers supports all disciplines of target archery, including Recurve, Compound, Longbow, and Barebow. Crossbow shooters are also welcome by specific arrangement, provided they meet all legal requirements for Crossbows. The club is also open to working with disabled individuals and the vision impaired who wish to be involved in the sport.
Whether you are new to archery or an elite archer, Wangaratta Target Archers is committed to supporting and helping you reach your goals. They offer programmes such as the “OzBow Come and Try” and “OzBow Introduction to Archery” from Archery Australia, catering to both beginners and those seeking more in-depth training. These programmes are designed to give participants the skills and confidence to enjoy archery for a lifetime.
