Vicswim is a well-established sports club located in Melbourne, providing fun and educational aquatic holiday programmes since 1976. The club focuses on teaching Victorians learn-to-swim and water safety skills in both pool and open water venues throughout the state. With increasing demand, Vicswim now offers new locations to cater to a wider audience.
The primary goal of Vicswim is to ensure that all Victorians have access to water safety, survival, and swimming programmes for children. The programmes aim to instil confidence and develop a positive attitude towards aquatic environments. Vicswim believes in maximising safety while fostering enjoyment of water activities.
The programme is a 4-5 day intensive summer course that offers low-cost swimming and water safety lessons to children aged 4 and above. Each programme consists of 5 sessions, with each session lasting 30 minutes (or 35 minutes for Week 1). Lessons are held at the same time every day throughout the week. Please note that the Week 1 programme for 2024 will run from Tuesday to Friday and will exclude the Monday public holiday.
The fee for the 4 lessons will remain at $35, but the duration of lessons will be extended to 35 minutes during this week to make up for the lost day. Parents are encouraged to enrol their children in 1, 2, or 3 programmes across the 3 weeks offered in January.
Vicswim also provides various news updates and media coverage. They offer opportunities to become a Vicswim Teacher, with applications for the summer programme available. The club values the importance of summer jobs and aims to create a rewarding experience for teachers and students alike.
Vicswim is proud to be supported by Aquatics & Recreation Victoria and emphasises the significance of water safety and recreation. Their website, developed by IT-Mate Web Solutions, offers further information and resources for interested individuals.
