Veteran’s and Ladies Cycling Club

The Veteran's and Ladies Cycling Club (VLCC) in Adelaide is a well-established sports club with a rich history. Originally established in March 1977 as the Adelaide Masters Cycling Club, it was created by a group of 14 professional road and track bike riders. These founding members, including Ron Backshall, Doug Holly, and Ray Brock, set out to create a welcoming and supportive community for cyclists of all levels.

The club's focus is on promoting and developing cycling for veterans and ladies in Adelaide. They offer a variety of events and races throughout the year, catering to both competitive and recreational cyclists. The VLCC is affiliated with the Australian Veterans Cycling Council (AVCC), allowing members to compete in official AVCC races.

Located at the Le Fevre Community Centre on Victoria Road in Osborne, the club has established Clubrooms that serve as a hub for members. These Clubrooms provide a space for socialising, organising events, and sharing a love for cycling. The VLCC also maintains a collection of race photos, showcasing the club's history and the achievements of its members.

One of the highlights of the club is its trophy case. Over the years, the committee has awarded winning riders with a variety of trophies, including perpetual trophies that have stood the test of time. These trophies serve as a testament to the club's commitment to recognising and celebrating the accomplishments of its members.

Membership renewal for the VLCC is done through the AVCC Membership portal. If you have held an AVCC licence in the previous calendar year, you can easily renew your licence and automatically become a member of the AMCC. This renewal includes a fee that covers both membership and rider insurance.
