Physie is a unique Australian sport that has been providing exercise opportunities to girls and ladies for over 120 years.
Physical Culture, (or Physie - ‘fizzy’) is a sport for girls and ladies from 3 years to over 63, which aims to build confidence, posture, strength, grace, and flexibility through exercise.
The syllabus is performed to contemporary music comprising marching, exercises, aerobic warm-ups, classical ballet and modern jazz dance.
The choreography is designed to teach the relationship of music to movement, rhythm, co-ordination, balance, and interpretation. A new syllabus is written every year for each age group.
All girls, whether new to physie or a physie veteran, start on equal footing.
Physie has many carry over benefits to students by improving memory sequencing and motor coordination.
